Frequently Asked Questions

A watermark is a visible overlay typically text or a logo applied to an image to identify its creator or owner. Photographers, artists, content creators, and businesses use watermarks to credit their work, discourage unauthorised use, and maintain brand identity when sharing images online.

Two modes are available: Text Logo where you type any text (such as your name, website, or copyright notice) and customise font size, colour, opacity, and angle. Image Logo where you upload a PNG file (such as a logo) to use as the watermark overlay.

Use the Opacity (%) field. A setting of 100 makes the watermark fully opaque and clearly visible. Lower values (e.g. 30 50) create a translucent watermark that is visible but does not significantly obscure the underlying image. Most branded watermarks use 30 60% opacity.

Five positions are available: Centre, bottom right, bottom left, top right, and top left. bottom right and bottom left are the most common choices for photographer credit watermarks. Centre is sometimes used to protect images shared on social media before sale.

Yes. The angle slider ranges from negative 90 to 90 degrees, allowing you to tilt the watermark text diagonally. A slight diagonal angle (e.g. 20ยฐ) is a common style for watermarks that make images harder to crop out.

No watermark can entirely prevent image theft. A visible watermark discourages casual copying and clearly identifies ownership, but a determined person with image editing tools can attempt to remove or crop a watermark. Combination approaches watermarking and sharing lower resolution versions are more protective than a watermark alone.

The quick select options are White, Black, Red, and Gold. These are the most commonly used watermark colours for photographs. White and Black work well on most backgrounds depending on the photo's tone.

Yes. Uploading a PNG with a transparent background is the recommended approach for logo watermarks. The logo will appear over the photo with its original transparency and shape preserved.

No. Your original image file on your device is not modified. The tool produces a new, separate image file with the watermark applied. Your source file remains unchanged.

Yes. Upload multiple images at once. The same watermark settings will be applied to all uploaded images, and each can be downloaded individually.
