Resizing changes the pixel dimensions (width and height) of an image. Compressing reduces the file size by encoding the image data more efficiently, without necessarily changing dimensions. Resizing a large image to smaller dimensions does typically reduce file size, but the two operations address different needs. Use Image Resizer to change how many pixels an image contains; use Image Compressor to reduce file size while keeping dimensions the same.

When your image's aspect ratio does not match the target dimensions, the fitting mode decides how to handle the mismatch. Crop/Fill fills the entire target area and crops any overflow good for square crops. Fit Margins scales the image to fit inside the target without cropping, adding empty space at the edges. Stretch scales the image to exactly fill the target, which may distort it.
Yes. Enter only a width or only a height, and the other dimension will scale proportionally (if your browser's display screen rendering preserves ratio by default). Alternatively, choose Fit Margins mode, which always preserves the original aspect ratio by fitting inside the target box.
The tool supports batch upload of multiple images simultaneously. There is no fixed limit on the number of files, but performance depends on your device's memory and browser.
Downscaling (making an image smaller) typically looks fine and is lossless in terms of visual sharpness when done correctly. Upscaling (making an image larger than its original dimensions) will appear soft or pixelated because the tool cannot generate new visual detail it only interpolates existing pixels. For this reason, avoid upscaling significantly beyond the original resolution.
DPI (dots per inch) is a metadata value describing print density. This tool changes pixel dimensions, not DPI metadata. For screen display, DPI is irrelevant only pixel dimensions matter. For print, DPI affects physical size: a 1080px wide image at 300 DPI prints at 3.6 inches wide. Changing DPI metadata is a separate operation not performed by this tool.
