Many apps and browsers read this metadata and display the photo correctly. However, some software ignores EXIF orientation and displays the raw pixel data, which may appear rotated. This tool permanently rotates the pixel data so the correct orientation is embedded in the image itself.

Yes. When rotating by an angle that is not a multiple of 90°, the corners of the image will extend beyond the rectangular display screen, creating transparent or white filled triangular areas. This is a geometric consequence of rotating a rectangular image.
Rotation turns the image around a central point by a specified number of degrees. Flipping mirrors the image along a horizontal or vertical axis. Flipping horizontally creates a mirror image (left becomes right). Flipping vertically creates an upside down mirror. Both operations preserve all pixel information.
